MountainStar Resort, Cle Elum, Washington

KBA planned this 7,400 acre master planned resort located in the Cascade Mountains of western Washington. MountainStar will be the largest resort in the western United States. The scale of the project required a great deal of creativity to tastefully integrate land use variety that conveys a 'village' resort theme. KBA planned 4 golf courses, a light-gage train alignment, positioned 5,300 homesites and 840 condominiums, a major theme hotel and spa, 64 miles of trails, an amphitheatre, equestrian area and a variety of associated amenities. KBA was a key consultant in the coordination of team members, directly reporting to corporate officers.

KBA achieved the desired density specified in the programming stage, while also preserving a remarkable 86% open space when the project was fully designed.
